The Source Youth Café
"....it is great to have somewhere to 'be'
and 'belong'...."
THE SOURCE Youth Café opened in October 2000 as a drop
in café for young people of Aldershot and has developed a regular user base
of around 100 young people.
On an average evening there would be around 20 - 30
young people at THE SOURCE, watching TV or a DVD on the wide screen,
chatting to youth workers, playing pool, or on the computers, or just
having refreshments from our subsidised cafe where you can get a free meal,
drinks and subsidised snacks.
You can get occasional advice about anything that's
bothering you, or alternatively you can enrol in our ‘Mentoring’ scheme or
our Anger Management course.
Our work is relationship based and fairly informal, and
we sometimes organise outdoor activities such as rock climbing, kayaking,
high ropes, summer camp, BBQ’s, beach trips in the summer – check out the
activities programme for updates.
The café is also available to hire for training and
functions. For further information, please contact Becky Williams on the
details below.
